FermaGlo One Year Later: Still a Keeper

Five years ago, I was diagnosed with several autoimmune diseases, along with food allergies and sensitivities. That diagnosis changed everything — not just how I eat, but how I live. Ingredients matter. What I put on my body matters just as much as what I put in it.

That realization sent me down a long road of cleaner, healthier choices. And I won’t sugarcoat it — this journey hasn’t been easy. But it has been worth it.

How FermaGlo Entered My Life

Last year, a friend of mine — someone who shares similar health challenges and is also a vegan salon owner — teamed up with several other couples and a group of scientists to create something different: a clean, fermented hair care system designed for real people. Not just women, but men too.

When she told me what they were building, I was intrigued. When she explained why fermentation mattered, I was curious. And when I saw the results, I paid attention.

Before FermaGlo officially launched, my friend hosted what she called “wash parties.” People would try the products, and we’d watch the before-and-after results unfold in real time. Each one made me more interested.

At the same time, I was cautious.

My Hair, Post-COVID, and My Hesitation

Like many people, my hair changed significantly after COVID. It thinned. It shed. And at one point, it was coming out in clumps. I eventually chose a shorter hairstyle just to manage the loss.

Through diet changes and supplements, I started to see new growth — and I was protective of that progress. I didn’t want to introduce a product that could set me back.

I also had another concern: subscriptions.

Forced auto-ship programs are a pet peeve of mine. I don’t like marketing tactics that pressure people into buying on a schedule that benefits the company more than the customer.

So I asked the question directly.

Why I Felt Comfortable Saying Yes

FermaGlodoesn’t force subscriptions.

No required purchase schedules.

No pressure.

You buy what you need, when you need it.

That mattered to me.

In August, I received my first FermaGlo set: shampoo, conditioner, and scalp serum.

What I Noticed First

It didn’t take long to realize this was different.

My scalp felt cleaner, not stripped.

My hair felt lighter, not coated.

And something unexpected happened — I didn’t need to wash as often.

I generally wash my hair only two to three times a week, and even with that schedule, my scalp continues to feel genuinely clean.

That was one of the first things that got my attention.

One Year In

I’ve now been using FermaGlo for exactly one year.

And I still love it.

The biggest thing I notice today is the new growth. My hair continues to fill in, and seeing that progress after everything my hair went through has been incredibly encouraging.

My natural white hair looks brighter, feels healthier, and is far less frizzy than it used to be.

But the clean feeling is still one of my favorite things about it.

Washing only two or three times a week, I don’t feel like I’m constantly battling buildup, heaviness, or that coated feeling some hair products leave behind.

A year later, FermaGlo hasn’t become something I simply “kept using.”

It has become part of my routine.

Why Fermentation Matters — The Simple Version

Fermentation helps break ingredients down into smaller components, which may make certain ingredients easier to use within a formulation and can also change how the finished product behaves on the hair and scalp.

For me, the science was interesting.

But the real test was always going to be how my own hair responded.

After a full year, I have my answer.

A Thought on the Beauty Industry

The beauty industry often promotes “beauty” using harsh ingredients to get quick results.

That contradiction doesn’t sit right with me.

I’ve become much more intentional about what I use, and when it comes to my hair, I’ve found a product line that fits the way I want to live: cleaner ingredients, a simple routine, and results I can actually see and feel.

Final Thoughts

FermaGlo has become a staple in my life.

Not because of marketing.

Not because of pressure.

But because after one full year, I still reach for it.

I love the new growth.

I love how clean my scalp feels.

I love that I only need to wash two or three times a week.

And most importantly, I like knowing I gave the product enough time to prove itself before forming an opinion.

One year later?

I’m still using it.

I’m still loving it.

And I’m definitely keeping it.

Bought it. Kept it. ✔
